Any business that doesn’t have some sort presence on the internet is at a serious disadvantage, especially without an official website. While social media accounts are avenues for marketing and connecting with customers, websites are important because they establish you as professional and give your company credibility. At the very least, a website lets Google and other search engines know you exist, putting you and your business on the online map with SEO visibility.
When it comes to building websites that are focused on content, the best option is usually to opt for a Content Management System. Having a custom website developed without a solid maintenance budget for the future can have a huge effect on your business operations in the long run, whereas most of the current content management systems today are open-source and easily maintainable, not to mention free.
Minimize Cognitive Load
The less friction and confusion users have when interacting with an app (e.g. the cognitive load), the better the chance that app stays around.
Optimized User Flow
Understanding how users interact with an app is essential for optimisation. As designers and developers, we should understand the user’s goals in the context of the entire user flow. This knowledge will help us identify the most common friction points during task completion.
Cut Out The Clutter
Good UI design is all about delivering relevant information (signal) and avoiding irrelevant information (noise).
Almost every new client these days wants a mobile version of their website. It’s practically essential after all: one design for the BlackBerry, another for the iPhone, the iPad, netbook, Kindle — and all screen resolutions must be compatible, too. In the next five years, we’ll likely need to design for a number of additional inventions. When will the madness stop? It won’t, of course.
